A two-vehicle accident in Grant County Thursday resulted in the death of one person.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, the victim, identified only as John Doe, 69, was southbound in the northbound lane of the U.S. Highway 167 bypass at Sheridan in a 1999 Honda CRV which struck a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer rig. The Honda then overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side.

The death was the 185th reported so far this year on the state’s highways.
