A Pine Bluff man was arrested Friday after being accused of domestic battery and damaged a police car by kicking both rear passenger doors.
Dalvin Carter, 32, had been taken into custody after police responded to St. John Apartments at 1105 E. 26th Ave., where firefighters were on the scene with a female who had obvious signs of being battered.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sgt. Corey Wilfong, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained the allegation during a court hearing Monday.
McGriff said while the officer was speaking to the victim, Carter began kicking the doors of the police car.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Carter, who McGriff said had an extensive criminal history, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with criminal mischief. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Oct. 8.
