A reported armed disturbance at a house on East Circle Drive Monday resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly pointed a gun at another man and threatened to shoot him.

When he was questioned after being taken into custody, Puree Doyle, 28, told police he confronted the man about what the man had told co-workers about Doyle and denied cocking the gun and pointing it at the victim.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said the victim told police that Doyle, who had been living with him pulled a silver and black handgun out of his pants pocket and threatened to shoot him while pointing the gun at him.

Carson said a witness, who was the girlfriend of the victim was also interviewed by Detective Ryan Edwards and Carson told the court what the woman said.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $7,500 bond for Doyle after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault and terroristic threatening. Doyle was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court July 7.
