A Forrest City man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly chased his mother and several other people with a vehicle during an altercation.

Sheldon Williams Jr., 21, was taken into custody after sheriff’s deputies were sent to 3809 Community Road at 6:10 p.m. in response to a reported disturbance.

Reading from an affidavit from Sheriff’s Lt. Kaylon McDaniel, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained what deputies were told.

McGriff said the weapon was recovered and turned over to the sheriff’s department for safekeeping.

McDaniel reported that Williams was not interviewed because he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Williams after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
