A 60-year-old Malvern man was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle which had previously hit two other vehicles.

According to a preliminary report, Kenneth Williams was hit when the vehicle, a 2017 GMC, left the roadway and entered the median of Interstate 30 eastbound at the 86-mile marker.

State Police reported that before the GMC left the roadway, it rear-ended a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, then hit a 2012 Nissan that was unoccupied. The driver of the Suburban, identified as Michael Smith, 64, was injured and taken to Baptist Hospital at Arkadelphia.

The accident was reported at 6:10 p.m. in Hot Spring County.

The death was the 159th reported so far this year on the state’s highways.
