A Malvern man has been charged in connection with severely beating a husband and wife who live in Sheridan.
Eddie “Dale” King, 34, appeared in district court on Thursday morning. He is charged with two counts of first degree battery.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Holden Raines said in a probable cause affidavit that a man and woman were attacked by King on Tuesday. Raines said the couple, Chester and Carol Dougal, remain hospitalized as of Wednesday afternoon. Chester Dougal is in critical condition and Carol Dougal is in stable condition, he said.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney upheld a prior decision to set King’s secured bond of $125,000. He also ordered King to have no contact with the Dougals.
