Megadeth has shared an excerpt from the audio book version of Dave Mustaine‘s upcoming memoir, Rust in Peace.

As the title suggests, Rust in Peace goes into the story behind Megadeth’s beloved 1990 album, Rust in Peace. The audio clip features producer Mike Clink, who’d previously worked on Guns N’ Roses‘ legendary debut, Appetite for Destruction, talking about how he came on board for Rust in Peace.

“We were captivated by Mike Clink’s work as producer on Guns N’ Roses[‘] Appetite for Destruction and UFO[‘s] Strangers in the Night,” Megadeth says. “That album was legendary and put Mike in a league of his own in our eyes.”

You can listen to the excerpt now via Megadeth’s Twitter.

Rust in Peace will be released September 8. It includes a foreword by Slash.
