Lincoln County Judge Buddy Lynn Earnest on Tuesday said that he has completed the budget for the County Road Department and will be turning it into the County Quorum Court for their consideration.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show, Earnest was asked about the 2023 budget and said this.

He went on to say that over the past couple of years, being short of employees in the road department has helped the overall budget since payroll and benefits make up the largest part of it.

Citing the small tax base in Lincoln County, morning show host Greg Horne asked Earnest if there was anything coming to the county that would increase the tax base.

Earnest said he would be grateful if the county only received $50,000 to $100,000 in additional monthly revenue.

“A little bit is better than nothing at all,” he said.
