On October 19, 2021 at approximately 8:00 p.m. Officer Bryan C. McDonel with the Pine Bluff Animal Control Division was contacted by MECCA concerning a large snake that had apparently crawled from the Bayou to the Walmart Gas Station where it took up residence at one of the gas pumps.

Office McDonel responded at found the snake coiled up at one of the pumps.

The cold did make the snake lethargic but it was still aggressive and struck out several times.

After a few minutes Officer McDonel was able to capture the snake. The snake was placed in a container and transported back to the Bayou where it was released unharmed.

Due to the Pine Bluff Animal Control Division and Officer McDonel a potentially bad situation was avoided and all patrons and the snake were taken out of harms way.
