One of the two candidates seeking to unseat Third Ward Pine Bluff City Council Member Ivan Whitfield was a guest on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Thursday to talk about herself and her platform.

Lanette R. Frazier is a minister in the African-Methodist-Episcopal Church and currently pastors a church in McGehee. She has lived in Pine Bluff for 17 years and previously has worked for Mayor’s Carl Redus Jr., Debi Hollingsworth and current Mayor Shirley Washington.

Frazier, who is running as a Democrat, was asked how her faith has dictated her life and how it would dictate her policy decisions.

During his four years in office, Whitfield has consistently opposed the Go Forward Pine Bluff initiative and Frazier was asked if she would support it if elected to the council.

Morning show host Greg Horne described council meetings “as an embarrassment” and asked Frazier what could be done to make them more civilized)

Quaranner Cotledge, who is also seeking the nomination is scheduled to appear on the morning show Tuesday, March 15.
