Lady Lions Drop Two To LSU-Alexandria

Alexandria, La. – UAPB softball dropped their non-conference doubleheader versus LSU-Alexandria Lady Generals 5-0 and 6-2 Wednesday afternoon at General Field.

Game 1– LSU-Alexandria 5 UAPB 0:  Game one went scoreless into the bottom of the sixth inning when the Lady Generals scored five runs to put the game away to claim game one.
Shanice Akins, Ann Jones, and Alexandria Taylor, each had a hit for the Lady Lions.

Game 2 LSU 6 UAPB 2:  LSU-Alexandria struck first (1-0) in the bottom of the second inning to grabbed the game first lead.  UAPB responded when Samantha Harris started the inning with a single up the middle and advanced to third on a single by the outfielder.  Aungelique Sargent followed up with a single, scoring Harris to tie the game at (1-1), two batters later Sargent would score on an error by the first baseman to give the Lady Lions their early lead of the game (2-1).

The Lady Generals, however, answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to complete the doubleheader sweep.

Harris led the Lady Lions at the plate going 2-for-3, with one run, followed by Sargent going 1-for-3, with one RBI and scoring one run.

UAPB will be back at home for a three-game series versus Alabama St. starting Friday, March 22, at 1:00 PM at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex.
