The Kohler Company, which has three plants at Sheridan recently announced a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for its employees.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, the announcement will affect “hundreds of employees” who work at the Sheridan facilities.

Under the policy, every U.S. employee will have to be fully vaccinated by Jan. 1, 2022 and provide documentation or face termination.

The newspaper reported the company announced the policy in a company-wide email Sept. 29, giving employees three months to be fully vaccinated.

The company said in the announcement that employees could apply for a health or religious exemption to the policy to avoid the vaccine but would be subject to weekly mandatory testing and wear a mask.

The newspaper also reported that several employees who spoke anonymously voiced opposition to the mandate, even though one said they had been vaccinated.

Kohler has nearly 500 employees at its three Sheridan plants.
