Benton police say one person is in custody after a shooting Sunday.

Police say officers responded just before 7:30 p.m. to the Longhills Apartments in response to a male suspect breaking into vehicles. The suspect was also accused of firing a shot off when confronted. When officers arrived at the scene, they say they arrested a 16-year-old suspect.

Police say no injuries occurred during the shooting.

Authorities later determined the suspect was also involved in other breaking and entering incidents that same day, according to police. Those incidents also happened at the Longhills Apartments.

The suspect is facing multiple charges including aggravated robbery, breaking and entering, and terroristic threatening.

Police say the suspect may face additional charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
