A special judge on Thursday morning put on hold a request to increase the number of people suing County Judge Gerald Robinson because they have not been paid.
Judge Randall Wright is hearing the case after all the judges in Jefferson County withdrew.
Robinson is represented by Little Rock attorney Casey Castleberry who talked to Deltaplex News after the hearing.
Little Rock attorney Luther Sutter who is representing the original plaintiffs in the case, County Assessor Gloria Tillman and her daughter Morgan Tillman filed an amendment to his original complaint, alleging a breach of contract and illegal extraction against Robinson. County Employees have not been paid this month because a 2025 county budget has not been passed by the Quorum Court in a dispute with Robinson.
Castleberry talked to Deltaplex News about the class action request.
In court, Castleberry said Wright had already ruled that Morgan Tillman was violating the county’s nepotism ordinance by working in her mother’s office so she was not in any class, and Assessor Gloria Tillman is an elected official and has a different situation.
Judge Wright did not take action on request to dismiss the lawsuit.
