During Monday’s meeting of the Jefferson County Quorum Court, Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson asked a sheriff’s deputy to remove Justice of the Peace Lloyd Franklin Jr., after several attempts to get Franklin to stop talking so the meeting could continue.

The deputy refused and on Wednesday, Justice of the Peace Ted Harden, who is the senior member of the Quorum Court was asked about that when he was interviewed on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

Since Harden mentioned that Justice of the Peace Alfred Carroll had been removed from a meeting a few years ago, morning show host Greg Horne asked if sheriff’s deputies were the ones who removed Carroll and if, in this case, deputies did not do their job.

Harden went on to say that a county judge does have the authority to ask that a justice of the peace be removed if they become disruptive.
