27-year-old Joshua Lasley was accused of fatally shooting Rodney Scaife, 34, and Trevarland Smith, 34, both of North Little Rock on June 23 of 2018 on Highway 15 near Tucker.

Deputies responded to the reported shooting and found Scaife behind the driver’s wheel of a vehicle unresponsive. He had received an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a sheriff’s report. Witnesses told deputies that they had left in a vehicle going to Tucker for haircuts when the driver of the vehicle pulled over because Smith was flashing lights behind the driver’s truck. Scaife, who was a passenger in Smith’s truck got out and started talking to one of the other passengers when Lasley got out of the truck and walked around it.

After the shooting, Lasley fled the scene but was later captured at as house in Pine Bluff. A bond of $750,000 was set on probable cause of two counts of first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm as a result of prior convictions at a court hearing on June 28, 2018.

He is now set to begin trail on November 13th in Fifth Division Circuit Court.
