Pine Bluff Police Officers and Firefighters are in line to receive salary increases next year after a meeting of the City Council’s Public Safety Committee Tuesday.
Council member Joni Alexander, who is a member of that committee, appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Wednesday. She said she has always been a member of that committee and described the committee’s effort as a “long hard road.”
She said the full council will have to vote on the proposal and was then asked where the money is going to come from.
Alexander was then asked why this was not done a long time ago.
