Like the rest of the hospitals in the state, Jefferson Regional Hospital is seeing an increase in the number of patients that are being treated for COVID-19.

On Thursday, Erin Bolton, the Director of Quality who, in her words, “is involved in everything COVID” was a guest on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and was asked about patient numbers.

Bolton said that even with the increase in COVID patients, other things scheduled like surgeries and the like have not been affected at this point but that is something that is being evaluated on a daily basis.

National reports have indicated that people who have the omicron variant are not as sick as those who had other variants and Bolton was asked if that was what the hospital was seeing.
