While many of the counties in Arkansas have reached COVID vaccination rates of 50 to 75 percent, Jefferson County is currently sitting at 23 percent, according to Erin Bolton, who is the director of quality and regulations at Jefferson Regional Hospital.

Bolton and Demetra Clark, a nurse who is involved in the vaccination efforts, spoke with Deltaplex News Tuesday. Clark talked about the importance of getting vaccinated.

She was also asked why the percentage is so low.

Deltaplex News asked Bolton what the hospital is doing to increase the number of people who are vaccinated.

The hospital is also planning a special vaccination event, Bolton said.

Vaccination events are also scheduled at Watson Chapel, White Hall, and Pine Bluff schools and Bolton discussed a state health department regulation regarding vaccinations.
