The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that Travis Browning is the Deputy of the Month for October 2019. Joining the force in May 2018, Browning enjoys his career and continues to demonstrate it through his dedication to service in the Jefferson County community.

“I feel very privileged about the recognition, being that achieving Deputy of the Month is something I strive for each month,” said Browning. “To be able to love what I do every day after so many years is an amazing feeling. Whether it is changing a tire, saving a life or helping a child, I look forward to it.”

Described as committed, passionate and dedicated, Browning is recognized for going above and beyond the necessary duties of a sheriff’s deputy to ensure all citizens feel safer on the road and in their homes and businesses.

“Deputy Browning is passionate about his job,” said Patrol Captain Mark Harper. “He is a team player, he is humble, and he is an asset to our organization.

Browning has many achievements to his credit. He has been in law enforcement for more than 10 years and he is a United States Army Veteran. He is currently studying to become a pilot. He is a certified k-9 officer, a field training officer, a law enforcement instructor, certified Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) officer, a member of the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association Honor Guard, a previous firefighter, a previous emergency medical technician, and the founder and CEO of Heroes Behind The Line, a non-profit organization that helps first responders with post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide prevention.

“His commitment to service and the betterment of the community shines through in both his personal life and work interactions,” said Investigator Charles White. “The community has benefited from his service as he has made himself available for community outreach events and special engagements. Deputy Browning is more than deserving of the Deputy of the Month and I congratulate him on his recognition of service to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Jefferson County.”

***The Deputy of the Month is chosen based on a system of points totaled each month for every ticket, warning, incident, accident, general escort, building security check, D.W.I., drug possession, domestic battery, etc.
