Over the past few days, much has been said about the failure of the Jefferson County Quorum Court to adopt the 2025 budget proposed by County Judge Gerald Robinson.
One of the loudest voices has been that of Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., who has been critical of Robinson and has in fact filed lawsuits against Robinson over issues relating to the jail.
Woods was a guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show where, talking about the budget impasse, host Greg Horne said that if this was a business deal, it would have been settled in short order but here, “everyone is dug in too deep. There’s no negotiating going on anywhere.”
Woods responded this way.
Woods said one of the two budgets does something different.
