Jefferson county has recorded its second COVID-19 death according to Jefferson county Coroner Chad Kelley.
According to Kelley, a patient at Jefferson Regional passed away overnight after testing positive for the Coronavirus. Kelley was not able to provide any other details regarding the patient due to HIPAA regulations.
This is the second COVID-19 death for Jefferson county. Judge Gerald Robinson confirmed the first COVID-19 death during the quorum court meeting Tuesday afternoon.
As of Thursday afternoon 1,146 Arkansan’s have tested positive for the coronavirus with 305 citizens recovering from the virus. At least 23 Arkansan’s have now passed away due to complications from the virus.
