A Jefferson County man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly fired shots at a vehicle containing five people.

Joshua Wayne Sanders, 22, will have to post a $75,000 bond to be released from the adult detention center after Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled Tuesday prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with four counts of aggravated assault, five counts of a terroristic act, and one count of aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Sheriff’s Capt. Yohance Brunson, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said deputies were sent to a reported armed disturbance on U.S. Highway 79 south where they talked to the victims.

Sanders said he would hire his own attorney and was told to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled.
