The Jefferson County Quorum Court was expected to discuss the adoption of an ordinance establishing rules and procedures for their meetings when committees meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
If they recommend approval of those rules and procedures, the full court will vote on them on Monday, Jan. 13, two days before the county’s first payday of the year.
Without adopting that ordinance, the Quorum Court cannot take any further action, including the adoption of a budget for this year.
County Judge Gerald Robinson was asked what would happen if that budget is not passed on Jan. 13.
Robinson went on to talk about the division between his office and some members of the Quorum Court.
He said he was optimistic that the members of the Quorum Court would adopt that ordinance so the county can move forward, prompting Morning Show host Greg Horne to ask if the county can move forward.
Robinson went on to say this.
