`For the third time since he was elected as Jefferson County Judge, Gerald Robinson delivered his state of the county address to elected officials and members of the media Thursday and unlike the first two, when the theme was somber because of a financial crisis, this one was full of good news.

Because of the COVID-119 pandemic, only a small group was on hand at the Pine Bluff Convention Center to hear the address directly, while everybody else logged in to Zoom to hear it remotely.

After serving many years as Jefferson County Sheriff, Robinson was elected as count judge is 2018 and took office in 2019. He started his address by talking about those days.

He said the county’s finances were in bad shape when he took office with just $27,000 in reserve and if a crisis had happened, the county could have gone bankrupt. Rebuilding those finances was the first order of business.

You can hear the entire State of the County address beginning at 6:04 p.m. Friday on Oldies 101.3.
