The Jefferson County government is now without email service due to the email vendor going without payment.

Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson spoke with Deltaplex News Tuesday afternoon to discuss the issue.

Robinson said he has attempted to get the situation taken care of by the County Clerk’s office, but hasn’t had any luck getting the vendor paid.

Robinson said that statements from Pines Federal Credit Union were turned over to County Clerk Shawndra Taggart for payment. However, Robinson said that Taggart has refused to submit payment.

Robinson has had an ongoing dispute with several members of the Jefferson County Quorum Court. A few of those Quorum Court members are friends with Taggart, and Robinson said that he believes this issue is connected to his issue with members of the Quorum Court.

Robinson reiterated that all county emails are affected by this situation.
