Jefferson County’s finances through the first 10 months of this year are significantly better than the figures from the same period last year., according to figures from the County Treasurer.
After a meeting of the Jefferson County Quorum Court Monday, County Treasurer Vonysha Goodwin talked about the numbers with Deltaplex News.
Specifically, on Oct. 31, the county had just over $36 million, compared to $30.6 million on Oct. 31, 2020, or $5 million more.
In the county general fund, the Oct. 31 balance was $2.642 million, or $1.1 million more than the Oct. 31, 2020 balance of $1.497 million.
So far this year, Jefferson County has received $91.876 million. That figure is nearly $11 million more than the $81.086 on Oct. 31, 2020.
The county has spent $65.6 million, a figure that is $5.7 million more than was spent during the same period in 2020.
