Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson has decided to keep the courthouse closed for an additional week because of an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19.

Appearing on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Tuesday, Robinson said this.

Robinson was also asked what people who need to do business with county offices should do since the building is closed.

In addition to the courthouse and road department, the district court, tire recycling, and the recycling center will all be shut down this week and Robinson said he will reevaluate the situation this coming weekend.

“I’m asking everyone to be careful and follow the CDC guidelines and continue to be tested,” he said, adding that he will be providing some home test kits to county employees that he has acquired.
