Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson has received a lot of phones calls, emails, and in person comments regarding the condition of county roads, and he is prepared to take action.

Robinson told Deltaplex News recently that the county is prepared to begin work on several roads within the county.

Robinson said that when citizens call to discuss roads they try to send someone out to speak with the citizens so they can see what they are seeing.

He said that he is looking at resurfacing more miles of road this year than he was able to last year.

Robinson said that tax dollars associated with the Saracen Casino Resort is on track to put more money in the coffers than originally expected, and that is helping to get some additional work accomplished.

Robinson added that the county has been able to put back the money they have even with building three new county buildings during the process.

Robinson also told Deltaplex News that upgrades will be coming for the juvenile courts within the county, with new carpeting and other upgrades being included in the upgrades.
