On October 16, 2024, at approximately 1:40 PM W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center Deputies learned of a detainee who was unconscious in his cell.
Attempts to revive the detainee, identified as Johnnie Holder, through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were accomplished. Emergency Ambulance Services were called and paramedics continued with CPR and transported Mister Holder to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mister Holder was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at JRMC that same day.
Due to Mister Holder being moved to ICU he was released from custody on October 17, 2024. Mister Holder passed away on October 18, 2024, and was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:00 PM.
Mister Holder’s body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for examination and possible determination of the cause of death.
This is an ongoing investigation, and any other information will be released when possible.
