The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office donated Winter coats to children at James Matthews Elementary School.

During the holidays, Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. launched a Winter Coat Drive in an effort to help children during the Winter season. Donations were accepted from employees and the public.

“We’re very appreciative to everyone who donated to this cause,” said Woods. “It is important that we take time to reflect on the joy and blessings in our own lives while also being aware that not everyone is so fortunate. The Winter Coat Drive is an easy way for the community to reach out and help someone less fortunate stay warm. We’re glad to be able to provide a needed service to the community.”
