A McGehee man will serve the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of first degree murder.

Jarell Terry, 25, was convicted by a Drew County jury of first degree murder, aggravated robbery and theft on September 12, 2018.  Terry was accused in the November 2017 shooting death of 20-year-old Christon Sheets of Wilmar.

The night of November 14, 2017, Sheets suffered two fatal gunshot wounds to the abdomen at his home.

After fleeing the scene, Terry was arrested two days later by the U.S. Marshals Service in Pulaski County.  He has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder conviction, life in prison for aggravated robbery and 15 years for theft.

A second suspect, 24-year-old Dominze K. Figures of McGehee, was also charged in connection to Sheets’ death.  Figures has yet to go on trial.
