Janet Potts Rarey, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Janet was born July 24, 1930, in Alikchi, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Hollis B. and Dora Fuller Potts. She was reared and received her education in DeQueen, where she graduated from DeQueen High School. She also attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.
Janet was a receptionist at Central Moloney for 40 years, before retiring in 2014. She attended Central Presbyterian Church. Janet was a people person who loved to work and really enjoyed watching her hummingbirds.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Cristi and her husband Tommy Lawhon of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren, Brian and his wife Heather, Shawn and his wife Laura, Brittney, Morgan, and Samantha; three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Johanna, and Rhylee.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Rarey; son, Pat Gillenwater; brother, Don Potts; and a great-granddaughter, Belle Renee Lawhon.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 2-4 PM, at 804 Rosswood Colony Drive, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
