Human remains have been found in Drew County, according to the Advance Monticellonian newspaper.

The paper reported that the Drew County Sheriff’s Office received a call Dec. 27 from a hunter regarding what were described as “human skeletal remains” that were located in a wooded area of the county.

Sheriff’s Investigators photographed the area and the remains have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for testing.

According to Sheriff Mark Gober, the remains appeared to be weathered and to have been there for an extended period of time, possibly years.
