Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Chief Shauwn Howell said Friday that an investigation is still continuing into a fire on Goodfaith Road that resulted in the deaths of two people.

Howell told Deltaplex News that there were “a lot of moving parts in that fire”, including a residence, a camper trailer behind the residence where the two people died, and a shop area where a third person had to be rescued and taken to the hospital.

On another subject, Howell encouraged people to get their air conditioning units serviced before hot weather really hits.

He said the summer months tend to be busy for firefighters because there is more activity outside, resulting in brush fires and with schools out and kids at home, an increase in cooking fires. Howell was also asked about the importance of getting a burn permit before outdoor burning.
