Home Again Pine Bluff broke ground on property donated to the organization located at Belair and Auburn Drive in Pine Bluff in order to build 34 new houses that will be for sale to any qualifying home buyer.
The homes will also be used to attract certified school teachers and first responders, as a $20,000 grant will be available to help purchase the home as long as qualifications are met.
A qualified school teacher or first responder will receive the grant if they will agree to teach or serve in the community for at least three years and attend and complete classes in Financial Education and Home Ownership 101.
Founding Director of Home Again and Pastor of New Life Church Matt Mosler spoke with Deltaplex News to share how Home Again Pine Bluff was able to get the land being used for the 34 houses.
Mosler added that certified teachers are needed to help Pine Bluff schools continue to improve.
Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington said that the constructions of these homes is a major thing for Pine Bluff.
Mayor-Elect Vivian Flowers said she believes in the mission of Home Again Pine Bluff as well.
As with any project, work couldn’t be done without financing. FBT Bank has assisted Home Again Pine Bluff with several projects in the past, and will continue to assist with this project.
Scott Ray spoke about why FBT Bank is on board to help with this project.
Construction is already underway with the goal to build four to five houses per year until all 34 houses are completed.
