Hogs, Golden Lions Historic Gridiron Match-Up Set For October.
It’s official! For the first time in history, the UAPB Golden Lions will meet the Arkansas Razorbacks in a fall gridiron match-up. The contest has been set for Saturday, October 23, 2021.
The two University of Arkansas system schools met previously in baseball, tennis, softball, and most recently in women’s basketball. The game will be the first in-state football game for the Hogs since blanking Arkansas A&M (University of Arkansas at Monticello) 41-0 in 1944.
The Golden Lions will kick off their spring season on February 27th, when they will host Texas Southern University at Simmons Bank Field. The Southwestern Athletic Conference opted out of playing sports in the fall semester and will allow all sports to compete during the current spring semester.
The Hogs and Golden Lions are scheduled to meet again on the gridiron in 2024.

The Southeastern Athletic Conference released their schedules today. Arkansas will open the season with three straight home games against Rice, Texas, and Georgia Southern respectively.
