Former Watson Chapel star Tink Hence continues to make a push to get to the big leagues next month. Hence struck out 6 of the 13 batters he faced, giving up only one hit in four innings of shutout baseball to lead the Cardinals to a win over the Frisco Roughriders. The performance was especially impressive considering the competition. Frisco has the best record in the Texas League and the best offense. With the performance, Hence dropped his season ERA to 2.84. The Cardinals will expand their roster in two weeks and are currently struggling to stay in the wild card race. Hence will pitch again on Tuesday night when the Tulsa Drillers come into Springfield.
