(NEW YORK) — As Dallas reels from deadly flooding, the downpours are now moving east.
The heaviest rain Tuesday afternoon is in northern Louisiana and into Jackson, Mississippi, where flash flooding is likely.
Archibald, Louisiana, has recorded over 8 inches of rain so far while Garden City, Mississippi, saw 7.2 inches.
Several spots in Mississippi broke daily rainfall records on Monday, which could happen again on Tuesday.
The forecast shows the heaviest rain falling in northeast Louisiana and central Mississippi, where 6 to 10 inches is expected over the next two days.
This comes after downpours pounded the Dallas region Sunday night and Monday, at one point reaching 3.01 inches of rain in one hour.
A state of disaster was declared Monday night in Dallas County as officials announced that a 60-year-old woman died when her car was swept away in floodwaters.
East Dallas recorded a whopping 15.31 inches of rain. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport saw 9.19 inches of rain over 24 hours — the highest in 90 years.
Dallas/Fort Worth set a new record for its wettest August since records began in 1899.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has signed a disaster declaration for 23 counties.
