A Little Rock based educator and founder of an education and professional development firm is expected to announce her candidacy for Congress Thursday afternoon.

Dr. Quintessa Hathaway will seek the Democratic nomination to run against Second District Congressman French Hill of Little Rock, who is seeking re-election.

According to her website, Hathaway is the founder, CEO and lead consultant of Q. Hathaway and Associates, a woman and minority owned professional services entity. Her team has over 120 years of combined experience as highly qualified educators, published authors, textbook writers, instructional coaches and others.

A graduate of Jackson State University, Hathaway previously ran for a seat in the Tennessee State Legislature while attending college, making history as the youngest African-American to run for the legislature.
