PINE BLUFF, AR – Go Forward Pine Bluff (GFPB), The City of Pine Bluff and the Pine Bluff Urban Renewal Agency (PBURA) are excited to break ground and begin construction on three city projects: Family Fun Park, a housing site and Sixth Avenue District.

The agencies will host three groundbreaking ceremonies on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the following times and locations:

  • Family Fun Park: 2100 E. Harding Street: 9:30 a.m.
  • Housing Site: 33rd & Plum Street: 10:15 a.m.
  • Sixth Avenue District: Sixth & Main Street: 11:15 a.m.

Family Fun Park will be an event center, which will include Go Kart racing, mini golf, gaming, food and so much more. The Pine Bluff City Council approved a total of $850,000 in February 2022 for the construction of the facility and a request to establish a Go Kart Track entertainment facility at 2100 E. Harding Avenue in a B-3, Highway Commercial zone was approved in June 2022 by the city of Pine Bluff Planning Commission.

The housing site is a project that will consist of three single-family homes at the corner of West 33rd and Plum Street. The need for new construction housing is essential for the revitalization of the community, according to Pine Bluff officials. This new housing will work in conjunction with the Neighborhood Enhancement Act (Alice Program) to increase home ownership and property values while encouraging developers to invest and eliminate blight.

Sixth Avenue District is a project that will transform the plaza into a fully functioning space that accommodates retail and restaurants located in the heart of Downtown Pine Bluff. It will feature four restaurants, a roof top bar, several retail spaces, an outdoor amphitheater, outdoor dining, a rainwater garden and more.

The community is invited to attend the ceremonies.
