UPDATE: Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has released the following statement ahead of Monday night’s Jefferson County Quorum Court meeting:

Deltaplex News reached out to the office of Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders to ask her opinion on the ongoing budget impasse for Jefferson County.
On Wednesday afternoon the Governor’s office provided the following quote from the Governor, which came from an interview with KATV last week:
“I think what the judge is allowing to happen is simply unacceptable. People have put their time in, they’ve worked and they need to receive their paychecks,” said Gov. Huckabee Sanders. “They’ve got to get this worked out, and they need to do it as soon as possible. I’m calling on the county officials to get this job done and make it happen to take care of the people that they have been elected to serve.”
