Golden Lions Chat with Soccer Coach Jeremy Winzer

soccer is taking some time out this summer to speak with all 10 of UAPB’s head coaches.

Coach Winzer is entering his first year as the head coach for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s soccer program.  

Winzer previously was the head soccer coach at Jarvis Christian College, where he led both women’s and men’s programs to their best seasons in school history.

Q: Why UAPB?
A: I have always wanted to be a head coach at an HBCU, specifically in the SWAC. It was always in my plans ever since I began coaching soccer. To be able to come into a program that I will be able to build back up into a conference championship team and then set our goals to earning a top 25 ranking and being the team that soccer players in high school grow up wanting to play for. Also being able to work at an institution that has such a rich history and success on the soccer field in a town that supports its student-athletes and programs was a dream come true.

A: Ruston, Louisiana

Q: What’s your favorite vacation spot?
A: Believe it or not its right here in Arkansas on the Buffalo River

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: Being a man that my mother can be proud of and the lives that I have positively impacted throughout my coaching journey and seeing the success they have had away from athletic competition.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of being a coach?
A: Seeing students graduate and become productive members of society
