University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff head football coach Doc Gamble has named three coaches to his staff.

Bill Nickell has been named offensive line coach, Larry Warner running backs coach, and Joshua Jones safeties coach.

Nickell comes to the Golden Lions after one season as assistant head coach / offensive line coach at Lake Erie College. Nickell previously spent five seasons at Lock Haven University (2015-19) as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, including a stint as interim head football coach. Nickell spent one season assisting with the offensive line and tight ends at Kent State University (2014) after beginning his college coaching career at Urbana University. While coaching at his alma mater (2011-13), Nickell, a two-time All-America offensive lineman, coached Urbana’s offensive line and tight ends and was special teams coordinator before being promoted to run game coordinator and associate head coach.

Warner joins UAPB after spending the previous three seasons as running backs coach at the University of South Alabama (2018-20) and worked with kick returners on special teams. Warner also coached running backs and return specialists at the University of Central Arkansas (2016-17). Warner, an All-America running back and kick returner at South Illinois, began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater (2014-15).

Jones comes to Golden Lion Nation after also spending the previous three seasons at the University of South Alabama (2018-20) as cornerbacks coach. No stranger to the state of Arkansas, Jones has had coaching stints at the University of Central Arkansas (2016-17) and Henderson State University (2015). Jones, who was an All-American player at Harding University, was a graduate assistant at Arkansas Tech University (2013-14), Missouri Western University (2014) and briefly at Troy University (2015).
