The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a Homicide investigation. Officers were called to the Linden Street Apartments at 1020 S. Linden at about 6:48 PM this evening in reference to an armed disturbance. Once officers arrived they spoke to a person on scene who said they heard shots come from one of the apartments. Officers saw bullet holes in the door of the apartment. The Officers gained entry into the apartment with the assistance of the Pine Bluff Fire Department. Inside the apartment they located forty year old Keith Hawkins lying in the floor with apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher. The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the official cause and manner of death. This will be the second homicide of 2021 in Pine Bluff.
It is early in the investigation. There is no known suspect information at this time. Further information will be released as it is available.
