The Arkansas Bar and the Young Lawyers’ Section, along with FEMA, the Arkansas Emergency Management Agency, The American Bar Association, Center for Arkansas Legal Services, Legal Aid of Arkansas, and Arkansas Access to Justice will be providing free disaster legal assistance. This comes following recent historic flooding in Arkansas. Free legal assistance is being offered to those affected.

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Arkansas to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding that began on May 21, 2019 and beyond. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help residents and business owners recover from the effects of flooding.

Flooding victims may call 1-800-950-5817 toll-free and a volunteer attorney will be available to respond to legal questions.
