Arkansas authorities are searching for a deputy who disappeared after diving into a lake while he was boating.
The missing man has been identified as Keith Wright. He is a deputy of the Grant County Sherriff’s Office. According to a news release, a call was received from a man around 9:45pm on Friday in reference to Wright missing in the Lake Ouachita area.
The caller stated that his friend dove off their barge near a cove north of Mountain Harbor Resort. Both men were swimming towards their boat, but as they came up for air, the boat began to drift away from them. The caller was able to swim to a shoreline but could not locate Wright.
It is suspected that high winds blew the boat away from the men. The boat was located and still running, but Wright has not yet been found.
