Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 362 calls in November and just under 43 percent were emergency medical related.

According to the department’s monthly report, firefighters answered 155 medical calls, 29 fewer than the previous month. There were also 29 vehicle accidents with injuries, one less than in October.

Twelve structure fires were reported with seven of them in Ward 4, one each on Wards 2 and 3, and 3 in Ward 1. Those fires accounted for 3.31 percent of the department’s monthly activity.  The 12 structure fires last month were three more than in October.

There were also 7 vehicle fires and 10 brush/grass/rubbish fires in November.

Firefighters responded to 20 alarms in November, and another 38 alarms were determined to be false.

Another 94 calls last month were classified as “other” and accounted for 25/14 percent of the month’s activities.

There were no hazardous material emergencies in November.
