Suspect Travis Eugene Posey
The Fordyce community continues to grieve the tragic loss of lives from a mass shooting that occurred in June.
Recently, a hearing took place at the Dallas County court concerning Travis Posey, who is charged with multiple counts of capital murder and attempted murder related to the incident.
Both the prosecution and defense are awaiting further evidence from the Arkansas State Crime Lab.
The judge has scheduled the trial for February, although potential delays were acknowledged.
The trial is anticipated to last three weeks, with a prehearing set for January 15 and the trial beginning on February 3.
If Posey is convicted of capital murder, he could face either the death penalty or life imprisonment.
