The FBI has released a file that it compiled in response to conspiracy theories related to the death of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

The 10-page document, which was first noticed by Rolling Stone, includes several letter written to the FBI from people insisting that Cobain did not die by suicide, but was actually murdered. The letters ask that the bureau reopen an investigation into Cobain’s death.

The file also includes replies from the FBI, which are mostly boilerplate responses explaining that the bureau does not have proper jurisdiction for homicide cases unless there’s evidence of “any violation of federal law within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBI,” which the letters do not provide.

Cobain died April 5, 1994. In 2014, the Seattle Police Department reviewed the case and reconfirmed that Cobain’s death was indeed a suicide.
